Well beyond 14 days subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues continue to honor the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he only now felt ready to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began passing more hours together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "a single day without laughter".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a separate piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed

Recently, a Los Angeles judge ruled to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the LAPD.

A legal directive placed a restriction on the files to prohibit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the result of murder, with a record citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Aftermath and Reactions

Following the deaths, public individuals expressed varying comments.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making provocative statements that were broadly criticized by numerous individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the those speaking out last week. Talking on his program, Rogan described the comments as "disturbing" and implied they demonstrated a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an associate ought to have intervened when the impulse to comment on the passing was made.
