The Initial Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering regarding Sony's platform unprecedentedly. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it becomes clear that the green gaming company still intends to attract subscribers with quality releases on its premier subscription.

The Available Now Titles

A pair of titles that are immediately available at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Upcoming Headline Games

Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."

Compelling Indie Titles

But even the smaller games set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that justify the service in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — which makes them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
